  Found this great little pub after taking our son to a train museum nearby. We wanted to go somewhere new for lunch, so drove around for a few minutes until... read more we found this place. We got there at around 1pm on a Sunday and it was packed. We soon found out the reason why. We ordered 1 standard Sunday lunch for my wife, and me being the big macho bloke ordered a large Sunday lunch. We also asked for a child's Sunday lunch for our 2 year old. The barman assured me that we wouldn't need an additional lunch for our son, and that instead they would simply give us an empty plate so that we could put some of our own food on there for him. I was a bit dubious about this, because as much as I love my son I was starving on that particular day and was looking forward to a good dinner. I needn't have worried though. When the plates arrived I couldn't believe my eyes. My wife's was first, and there was that much food on her plate I honestly thought it was my large dinner. When mine did arrive the plate it was on was more like a platter. I filled my sons empty plate and it didn't even look like I'd taken anything off my own plate! The food itself was perfection. All home cooked, nothing out of a packet and warmed up like most pubs do these days. Since then, we've been back 6 times and have no complaints.
